The Good Seed Gift Guide 2018

As Julie Andrews sang:

“Raindrops on roses
And whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favourite things”

The Holiday Season is fast approaching and we at the Good Seed wanted to share with you a few of our most favourite gifts to give (and get!) in the coming weeks. Gift giving can sometimes be tricky, so we’ve broken down our gift suggestions into a few useful categories such as Gifts for Children, Gifts for the Edible Gardener, Gifts for the Home Cook, etc. Just a quick note to say that these are not sponsored in any way nor can I vouch for anything but my personal experience with these gifts.

To start things off, is our “Gardener Essentials” List:

  1. Felco Pruners: I purchased mine from Lee Valley here

  2. Gardena Garden gloves – these are essential! Their fit is the best.

  3. Wooden garden markers; these come in handy anywhere and everywhere (and aren’t plastic)!

  4. If you’re looking to inspire the gardener in your life, why not sign them up for some seed catalogues? These are mos tly free (yippee!): here are some of our must haves! West Coast Seeds, Johnny’s, High Mowing Organic, Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, Botanus, etc – alternatively most of these are available for download and could be added to your gardener’s digital reading library as a thoughtful gesture.

  5. For the indoor grower: this Ikea shelf system and these indoor growing lights are a good price point and simple in set up. These can be used to start seeds indoors come the Spring. Throw in a few peat trays for good measure!

Please let us know if you have any questions about our suggestions and follow us on Instagram @thegoodseedto to give good gifts!
